Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 25, 2026

Welcome to TouchScreenTester.com ("we", "our", or "us"). We are dedicated to respecting and protecting the privacy of everyone who uses our website and browser-based diagnostic utilities. This Privacy Policy details our data practices, how our client-side testing engine operates, and our policies regarding cookies and third-party advertising partners like Google AdSense.

Key Summary

Our testing tools execute 100% locally in your web browser. We do not store or transmit your touch coordinates, gestures, microphone audio, mouse movements, or diagnostic results to any server.

1. Client-Side Diagnostic Processing

When you interact with our touch tests (including Basic Touch Test, Dead Zone Grid, Multi-Touch Counter, Sensitivity Tracking, and Accuracy Tests), all calculations, touch coordinate mappings, and visual rendering are processed directly on your device via HTML5 Canvas and native browser Touch and Pointer APIs.

None of your physical touch points, pressure readings, finger paths, or device screen hardware interactions are logged, saved to cookies, or transmitted to any external server. Once you refresh or close the browser tab, all interactive test session data is immediately discarded from device memory.

2. Microphone, Audio and Mouse Tests

The Mic Test only accesses your microphone after you press "Allow Microphone" and grant permission in your browser's prompt. Audio is analysed for the level meter and, if you choose to record, held as a short clip in your browser's memory so you can play it back. Recordings are never uploaded, saved to a server, or shared with analytics or advertising partners. Pressing "Turn Off Microphone" or closing the tab stops the microphone and discards the recording. You can revoke microphone permission at any time in your browser's site settings.

The Left Right Speaker Test generates tones in your browser and does not use your microphone. The Polling Rate Test counts mouse movement events locally to calculate a rate and does not record cursor positions.

3. Google AdSense & Third-Party Advertising

We partner with third-party advertising vendors, including Google, to serve advertisements when you visit our website. These ads help us maintain TouchScreenTester.com as a 100% free public service.

  • Google and DoubleClick Cookies: Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to TouchScreenTester.com or other websites across the internet.
  • Advertising Cookies: Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to our site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • Personalized Advertising: Ads served may be personalized based on demographic categories, general geographic location, or browsing interests inferred by third-party ad networks.

Opting Out of Personalized Advertising:

Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative / AboutAds Choice Tool or the European Digital Advertising Alliance (EDAA).

4. Log Files & Web Analytics

Like virtually all web hosts and cloud providers, our servers automatically collect standard technical log entries when visitors access pages. These log files may contain:

  • Internet Protocol (IP) address
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system (e.g., Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, ChromeOS)
  • Referring and exit pages
  • Date, time stamp, and requested URLs

This technical log information is used strictly to diagnose server performance, prevent malicious automated DDoS attacks, monitor network health, and administer the website. It is never linked to personally identifiable information.

We may also use privacy-focused analytics tools (such as Google Analytics 4) to monitor aggregate traffic volume, page view counts, average session duration, and device category distributions (mobile vs. tablet vs. desktop) to guide development and optimization.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are asked before any analytics cookies are set. Until you choose "Allow", Google Analytics runs in Consent Mode and stores no cookies. Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage, and clearing your site data resets it.

5. Local Storage & Preferences

We use browser localStorage solely to remember non-identifying user interface preferences, such as your chosen theme setting (Dark Mode vs. Light Mode) and, where we ask, your analytics cookie choice. These preferences remain locally on your device and are never synchronized to our servers.

6. General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Rights

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you possess distinct legal rights regarding your personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Right of Access: You have the right to request copies of your personal information held by us.
  • Right to Rectification: You may request corrections to any inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Right to Erasure: You can request that we erase your personal data under certain conditions.
  • Right to Restrict or Object to Processing: You may request restrictions on or object to our processing of your personal data.
  • Right to Data Portability: You have the right to obtain your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.

Because TouchScreenTester does not require account creation, user profiles, or cloud database storage for touch tests, we do not maintain personal profiles on users. If you send us an email inquiry, we store your email address solely to answer your questions.

7. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have specific privacy rights:

  • The right to know what personal information is being collected, used, shared, or sold.
  • The right to delete personal information collected by the business.
  • The right to opt-out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • The right to non-discrimination for exercising your CCPA privacy rights.

We do not sell personal information in exchange for money. You can manage or disable third-party advertising cookies through your browser settings or via the opt-out links outlined in Section 3.

8. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)

TouchScreenTester.com is an educational and diagnostic utility designed for general audiences. We do not knowingly solicit or collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. If you believe your child has submitted personal details through our contact email, please contact us immediately and we will promptly delete that communication from our records.

9. External Links to Third-Party Resources

Our articles, guides, and documentation may contain hyperlinks to external websites, documentation repositories, and repair manuals not operated by TouchScreenTester.com. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or cookie policies of external sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party website you visit.

10. Updates to This Privacy Policy

We may periodically update this policy to reflect modifications in our tools, updates to advertising vendor standards, or revisions in global privacy regulations. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" timestamp. We encourage users to check this page periodically.
